Smiths Medical is currently hiring a Process Technician I in Dublin, OH.

The Process Technician I is responsible for injection molding installation, set up, water connections, parts containment, line clearances where applicable, and clean-up of area and equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Works with the Tool Room with respect to the mold preventative maintenance program.
  • Maintains a neat, orderly, and safety work environment at all times.
  • Maintains production paperwork as required for assigned shift and machine group.
  • Performs line clearance and lot material number verifications as required.
  • Performs all duties within applicable requirements established for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), ISO, company or departmental policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Follows outlined procedures, safety guidelines, quality and cost standards are met in order to maintain the company's competitive position in the marketplace.
  • This position is required to assure compliance of Company operations to all applicable laws, regulations and standards, good business practices and company documented procedures (including knowledge of all standards, government occupational health and environmental regulations and statutes related to the site).
  • Engage others, promote, and participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives, focusing on continuous improvement.

The Individual
  • Secondary Education (High School) required.
  • Some vocational schooling preferred.
  • Three to five years injection molding experience with 33 to 350 ton equipment preferred.
  • Must be familiar with different materials / resins and their compatibility with others.
  • Computer literate for data entry and retrieval in the Mattec system for SPC monitoring.
  • Knowledge of plastic molding machinery, different materials / resins and auxiliary equipment.
  • Solid math skills and a working knowledge of measurement equipment, such as gram scales.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Time management, communication and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to use standard mechanics measurement tools, custom gages, and video inspection devices.
  • Ability to read product specifications and component prints / drawings.
